Eco Nuts was founded in 2009 by actor Scott Shields and scientist and naturalist Mona Weiss. Eco Nuts was created to bring eco-friendly organic cleaning products to the marketplace in compostable or recyclable packaging. We called our company Eco Nuts, which we thought was a great description for these fantastic little berries as well as a wonderful play on words for people like us who are crazy about the environment. By using our natural laundry detergent, you can save up to 11 plastic jugs a year! We also offer household cleaning supplies and wool dryer balls that we hope will transform you into an Eco-Nut! Read more about our story and check out our other organic cleaners, laundry products and dryer balls at www.EcoNuts.com. Soap that grows on a tree. These odd looking Eco Nuts are actually dried berries from a tree that grows in the Himalayas. When agitated in water, they produce a naturally occurring surfactant called saponin. Saponin can be used as a soap or detergent which gently cleanses, or as a fabric softener - an option for those sensitive to conventional laundry detergents or other cleaning chemicals. Eco Nuts are wild-harvested, and certified USDA organic by Oregon Tilth. This means they are gathered from wild trees grown without any kind of chemicals, fertilizers, or pesticides. Saponin actually tastes bad to insects so no pesticides are needed, and the trees naturally love poor uncultivated soil. Certified organic by Oregon Tilth. www.EcoNuts.com. Grown in Nepal.
Ingredients
Easy Directions: Place 4-5 Eco Nuts in the provided wash bag and toss in washer with your clothes. Leave them in through the rinse cycle - the saponin released from the berries also acts as a fabric softener. Use as a detergent, a fabric softener, or both. Re-use until they lose their color, become as thin as a piece of paper and are crunchy and brittle when dry and it is time to replace (about 10 times). The soap is in the shell, so don't worry if you notice they are hollow. Even pieces have soap until they become paper thin and the soap is gone. It is common to not see any suds. These don't foam like a chemical detergent, but the soap is still there. Bubbles don't equal cleaning power. Gentle on delicate fabrics and colors. Ideal for sensitive skin. Cloth diaper safe.
Warnings
Caution: Choking hazard. Not for human consumption.
